Poet's Corner - Tuesday 9th February, 2010 - Hanger Farm as usual - 7.30pm. Meet in the foyer or the Gallery Room. Refreshments available. Approx £2 fee to cover room hire - waived to newcomers if they just want to experience the evening.

Friday 22nd January, 2010 "Moving Voices" is the Art House's monthly gathering for poets, songsters and the like - the theme for the night is Scotland in the shape of 'A BURNS' NIGHT SPECIAL' so bring a poem, a short story, a song, or just come along and listen, a spendid evening all round. The Art House will be offering a delicious selection of vegan and vegetariano foods to nibble on, and plenteous beverages to sup upon, during the evening. Starts 7.00pm at The Art House, 178 Above Bar, Southampton

Poetry Society Stanza meet at The Art House, Above Bar, Southampton. The poems the participants bring are discussed and commented freely upon - most enlightening and enjoyable. The poems discussed receive incisive and helpful comment, hopefully giving the author as well as the listeners a valuable insight into them. Con Connell is in control of the evening which allways is worth the whistle.

Meeting Reports

"Moving Voices" Open-Mic Night - An excellent evening! There were poets,  acoustic and spanish guitarists, a vocalist pianist, drumming (but no didgeridooing this time - sort of a didgerididn't), splendid pianist Patrick (who amazed us with his Shostakovich and Chopin), not forgetting Glen, who sang a couple of numbers, there was also fine food, conversation, and overall a great evening. Many thanks to everybody at The Art House for hosting (including those dedicated volunteers), and everybody for turning up. This is turning out to be a great evening.
